The Forum heard from a range of guests at its June meeting, with topics including water services reform, regional workforce issues and health reforms.
Forum highlights
Water services reform
- Officials from the Department of Internal Affairs National Transition Unit joined the Forum to continue ongoing discussions about the Water Services Reform Programme.
Regional Skills Leadership Group
- The Forum heard from the co-chair and regional lead of Otago's Regional Skills Leadership Group, ahead of the release of a refreshed Regional Workforce Plan.
Health Localities
- Officials from Te Whatu Ora (Health New Zealand) and Te Aka Whai Ora (Māori Health Authority) spoke to the Forum about health localities and the national boundary determination process for localities as it applies in Otago.
Te Rōpū Taiao Otago
- The December Mayoral Forum concluded earlier than usual to allow for a meeting of Te Rōpū Taiao Otago, a partnership between local authorities and Kāi Tahu ki Otago.
